Skip the Main Terminal — Head to Palm Way
Let’s start with a mistake I personally made: I brought my luggage to the main terminal. But if you’re a Rockstar, your boarding process begins at Palm Way, which is the dedicated Rockstar entrance.
If you’re taking an Uber or being dropped off, make sure your driver knows to take you to Palm Way, not the main terminal. If you’re driving yourself and plan to park, it’s smart to drop off your luggage first at Palm Way, then go park your car. This small detail makes a big difference and sets the tone for the exclusive experience ahead.
The Difference Between Rockstar and Regular Boarding
Unlike regular sailors, Rockstars have their own entrance. While the main terminal handles all other boarding categories—including priority and Romance Sailors—Rockstars bypass the crowds and enter through a completely separate, more private area.
Your Virgin Voyages Rockstar embarkation experience includes:
- A black Rockstar wristband that identifies you for priority perks onboard
- A dedicated drop-off zone and entrance at Palm Way
- Early check-in and access to a private lounge that opens at 12:30pm

When Should You Arrive?
Embarkation officially begins at 1:30 PM for Mega Rockstars and 1:45 PM for Rockstars. However, many people make the mistake of arriving too early. The Rockstar Lounge doesn’t open until 12:30 PM. If you arrive before that, you’ll be waiting outside—and in Miami, that means heat and humidity.
You are welcome to check in and receive your black wristband earlier than 12:30, but you’ll have to wait outside until the lounge opens. Unless you’re arriving right around 12:30 or later, there’s no advantage to coming early.
What About Luggage?
At Palm Way, simply provide your cabin number to the porter. Your bags will be tagged with Rockstar priority tags, which means they’ll arrive at your room sooner than everyone else’s. However, you don’t have to check your luggage if you don’t want to. You’re welcome to carry it on through security like you would at an airport.
Inside the Rockstar Lounge at Terminal V
Once inside the lounge, the air conditioning is your best friend—especially if you’ve just escaped the Miami heat. This space is for Rockstars only, with a separate seating section for Mega Rockstars. The lounge includes:
- Comfortable seating and private zones
- Light snacks and non-alcoholic beverages
- Restrooms and Wi-Fi access
This is also the perfect time to open the Virgin Voyages app and review your plans. Finalize any remaining dining, brunch, or workout reservations. Get familiar with the daily schedule.
