Pickleball bags
One of the key thing to think when buying a pickleball bag is the size.
To be honest, a small bag is GREAT in some situations, but if you’re headed to an all day pickleball event, you’ve got a lot of stuff in that bag.
So as you’re giving a gift to someone else (or yourself!) consider what goes into the bag, how many paddles you own, etc etc.

Fun and funny pickleball gifts
Let’s be real pickleball is fun – and if you’re able to laugh at yourself (whiffing a ball, hitting it into the net yet again, saving a ball that was clearly going out or whatever it is) then pickleball is also REALLY FUNNY.
Below is a round up of some fun and funny gift ideas…
Sometimes it’s about dinks, but more often… it’s about drinks. Pickleball coasters and drink holders can be super fun for that.
Baby paddle or “Spot trainer”
This can be a literal (great) gift or a funny gift. Baby paddles (or “spot trainers”) are great for training someone to hit the sweet spot of the paddle with a (literally) smaller paddle like these.
Or you can gift this to someone you play with who is just so da** good and annoying to play with, and it’s a nice little handicap. LOL.
Pickleball balls
If you’re new to pickleball or getting a gift for a pickleball player and are not a pickleball player yourself, you need to understand that saying:
“It’s just a ball. They’re all the same aren’t they? Who cares?“
Saying the above is more or less the same thing as saying “yes, I’m happy to drink bottom shelf alcohol”.
If you’re new to pickleball or don’t play, the person you’re gifting this for might care (a lot).
So make sure you get the right set of balls – because there is ALSO a difference between indoor balls and outdoor balls (namely: the number of holes and weight of the ball).
A great outdoor ball, for example, is the Franklin X-40. And yes, I’m aware that people will judge my choice. LOL.
Outdoor pickleball balls
If the person you are gifting this to plays at a proper pickleball club with “outdoor courts, but inside a building” (like this one) – they will use an outdoor ball.
Indoor pickleball balls
If the person you are gifting this for plays indoors, the balls below are for indoor places with GYMNASIUM flooring (i.e. pickleball nets setup over a basketball court like this).
And if you’re thinking “omg why does this matter” – just give them a receipt along with this purchase. Which btw, Dick’s has balls. I checked.

Pickleball Paddles
If someone you know (of course it’s not you) is using one of the cheap pickleball paddle sets from Amazon, the right time to buy is a different paddle is IMMEDIATELY.
The top thing I hear is “I didn’t realize how different a REAL pickleball paddle is!” until I put my paddle in their hands.
