I spend a LOT of time researching my travel and I take everything I learned PLUS everything I experienced and I create an insanely helpful, visually engaging video that is a LOT of fun.

I went to UC Berkeley, cut my teeth doing marketing and business strategy for Walmart.com and Amazon living in SF and NYC, I bought a million dollar condo and then GAVE IT ALL UP and traded it for a life of adventure.

Have you always been a creator?

No! I studied economics at UC Berkeley, then did marketing, business strategy and merchandising for Walmart.com and Amazon living in SF and NYC. For many… many years.

Why did you become a Youtuber?

I’ve always wanted to travel more. I felt like I had a ball and chain while working 12 hour days in a cubicle and felt shamed if I actually took all 14 days of vacation each year. Something was wrong with this picture.

When did you start flying drones?

In 2020. I did it because I thought it was such a cool way to explore the world. And also – because everyone told me it was hard and I’d never figure it out.

Is flying drones actually easy?

It is. What’s hard is giving ourselves permission as adults to learn something new. After a certain age, we expect ourselves to just KNOW how to do things. No one gives themselves the patience to learn, but think about it: unless you are an airline pilot, NOTHING in your everyday life is LIKE flying a drone.

What’s your favorite place to travel?

Short answer: Bonaire. It’s where I can explore the ocean (scuba) and be on a beautiful secluded island. Click here to see a 3 minute video of it.

I love going back to everywhere multiple times. I DO NOT believe in “counting countries” or “collecting passport stamps”.

What’s on your bucketlist?

Exumas. I love the Bahamas. I want to be on a boat droning the Exumas. Also: New Zealand. I love adventure. Lastly: Japan. I spent a lot of time there, but it’s never enough.

The Name: “Where in the World is CL”

I travel so much that every time I call my mom she’d say

“Where in the world is my daughter today?”

…and that’s where my catch phrase of ‘Where in the World is cL’ (my initials) came from.

A secret if you’ve made it this far… the story behind my profile picture (below).

I’ll never forget where I started as a creator – I was UNCOMFORTABLE on camera. It’d take me 5 hours to film a 3 minute youtube video.

While filming my first video (ever), I gave up, leaned against the wall and took a photo. It’s been my profile pic ever since and reminds me: DON’T QUIT
